Veillées Foodstock 2011, gourmandises et rock’n'roll

Pas tout à fait aussi fou que l’emblématique Woodstock, mais certainement plus savoureux!

Les Veillées Foodstock c’est un événement du Fooding à Paris où le concept est double, découvrir & déguster un menu réalisé par des chefs parisiens, tout en écoutant des concerts acoustiques au coin du feu.

Pour sa première édition de cette année, dans les jardins du MAC/VAL, le Foodstock nous a fait découvrir la talentueuse chanteuse et musicienne Fredrika Stahl, au cours d’une session de musique folk-rock unplugged.

 Côté « food » (& drink!) les cocktails à base de whisky Jameson et la glace brûlée Haägen-Dasz ont su combler plus d’un gourmand!  le gaspacho printanier était une entrée parfaite, à la fois fraiche et légère…Pour ce qui est du plat principal, le fameux beauf carottes, nous n’avons malheureusement pas pu le gouter faute d’être arrivés un peu tard.

Partie remise vous me direz car le Foodstock revient pour deux veillées complémentaires le 7 et 21 mai, toujours avec Grégory Marchand du restaurant Frenchie et Camille Lesecq du Meurice.

Côté musique,  Benjamin Biolay, Brigitte, Minou (le groupe des frères Poupaud)…Alors allez y sans hésitation, vous contribuerez dans le même temps au soutient  de la fondation des enfants du Congo Béthanie*.

Foodstock 2011: it’s all about yummy food and rock’n'roll!

Not quite as crazy as the iconic Woodstock Festival, but certainly more efficient in food matters! The Parisian based Foodstock event invites us this season with the finest selection of gourmet-food and a couple of concerts set next to a cosy fireplace.

The museum for contemporary art MAC/VAL hosts the event this year and introduced us to the talented singer and musician Fredrika Stahl, who warmly welcomed her public to a session of unplugged folk-rock.

Mojitos and Haagen-Dasz icecream brought some summer feeling to the festival and the gazpacho soup was more than delicious! Unfortunately, we arrived a little late for the main course and spent the rest of the evening without tasting the famous beef and carrots dish!

Next time we won’t miss it! For the Foodstock returns for two additional evenings on May 7 and 21, again with Gregory Marchand from the restraurant Frenchie and Camille Lesecq from Le Meurice. On stage this time: the sensational Benjamin Biolay and french starlet Camelia Jordana. And all this in the name of charity! Half of the entrance price will go straigth to the Congo-Bethany Children Foundation. Fond of yummy food and good music?
