The Eiffel Tower – 5 tips to make the most of your visit

Publié le 20 juin 2011 par Travis

Tip 1 – Purchase the tickets in stages

Most tourists buy a ticket to the top of the tower at once. You should keep in mind that the best views of the metropolitan area is from the 2nd level, once you are in the second level you can decide whether you need to go further up or rather take the steps to the top. Also purchasing tickets at stages can help you leave without guilt if the queues are too long or if the weather is not cooperating.

Tip 2 – Walk up to the second level

It is good exercise, plus you get to save time and money. You can burn some unwanted fat climbing up the 704 steps and avoid hours of waiting in the queue for the elevator. It will also save you around 6 Euros. So get that heart pumping!

Tip 3 - Take a Tour of the Mechanical Rooms

Many people often forget to visit the Mechanical rooms. Here you will see original machinery as well as the modern tower control room. It is situated underneath the tower and has some interesting facts about the construction of the tower.

Tip 4 - Visit at Night

The tower will take your breath away irrespective of the time you visit it, but I personally recommend visiting it at night so you can witness the sheer beauty of the Paris skyline and why it is known as the ‘city of light’.

Tip 5 – Wear warm clothes

If you are visiting the tower in the Spring, Fall or Winter, always wear some warm clothes. Although the ground temperature is bearable, once you get to the top of the tower temperatures can be low. So remember to wear warm clothes or take them with you when you are visiting the Eiffel tower.

If you stick to these 5 simple tips, I assure you can get the most of the visit to La Tour Eiffel in your Paris Getaways.
