Decorating with natural materials

Natural materials play an essential role in Nordic interiors, whether the style is traditional, mid-century, minimalist, modern etc. It's the key to achieve a warm and welcoming atmosphere despite the bright white backdrop that often is the starting point. In this example below, the stylist has used birch, rattan, cork and linen together with earthy colours like terracotta and grey-green clay to create a soothing decor. And of course lots of green plants.
Les matériaux naturels jouent un role essentiel dans les intérieurs nordiques, que le style soit traditionnel, années 50/60, minimaliste, moderne etc. C'est la clé pour réussir une ambiance chaleureuse et accueillante malgré le fond blanc immaculé qui constitue souvent le point de départ. Dans l'exemple ci-dessous, la styliste a utilisé du bouleau, du rotin, du liège et du lin, avec des couleurs terreuses comme la terre cuite et l'argile gris-vert pour créer un décor apaisant. Et bien évidemment, plein de plantes vertes.
