LN-CC Info:
These are a customised loose fitting work trouser produced from the original Lot 66 Overalls from the early part
of the 20th Century. The front patch pockets and belt loops have been produced from original bib and braces.
Featuring two anchor embossed top buttons on front of waistband in navy, along with Levi’s branded metal button fly,
concealed by the fly and a square metal cinch back. The wash has natural fraying, with striped patches, distressing.
Each style has a detachable ‘Monterey Bay’ feature tag explaining the history of the area and the style.
The Cannery row simulates 10 years of hard labour from local workers from the surrounding factories,
predominantly sardine canner’s, who would use any fabric that they could find such as denim, striped, checked fabric
in order to maintain the jeans they wore on a daily basis for work in the California state of USA.
John Steinbech wrote about the characters of Monterrey in Cannery Row, giving us an insight into the hardships
and tough lives of this raw community.
