After playing the night before in Brussels, LUCY ROSE made her first appearance ever in Paris. Lucy Rose played a very convincing performance and it won't be suprising to see her in much bigger venues the next times she comes around as she displayed so much passion and sheer talent.

Lucy Rose's voice may draw comparisons to Laura Marling or Holly Miranda as it is very sweet and easily hitting gorgeous notes. In fact, her tiny frame and her bright smile are confusing because then you don't expect to find such determination and poise. After arriving a bit late and not making a really good soundcheck, Lucy Rose and her three-piece band had to face some sound issues, which they still shook off quickly, not letting themselves affected by them. Listening to the recorded versions and their live rendition led to the same conclusion : Lucy's voice is, for now, an absolute hidden gem and her songwriting shows creativity and finesse despite her young age.

Playing a variety of acoustic and electric guitars in fingerpicking-style or sometimes with a bow, Rose showed in Paris a great deal of potential and the Parisian fans knew what they were witnessing, cheering loudly after each song. She equally excels at singing intimate slow songs or exciting mid-tempo numbers. Lucy started her show with the tender and comforting Night Bus and everyone could feel Lucy's beautiful voice going through our veins. The engaging All I've got followed with a very good backing band, particularly the lead guitar player who played some subtle solo parts complementing perfectly Lucy's singing.

Lucy Rose seemed to really enjoy the reception and interacted quite a few times with the audience who was very enticed by the show. She is the kind of artist who possesses this peculiar blend of fragility, kindness and also self-confidence. For the last part of the night, Lucy picked up the pace a bit with the acrimonious breakup song Middle of the bed. Lucy thanked everyone for coming and making this gig very successful. Bikes was even more fascinating, Lucy took us in the backseat and made everyone scream out loud at the end of this amazing track. The audience then shouted even louder to make her come back on stage. Lucy Rose finished alone with her acoustic guitar with another gorgeous song that she introduced as a quiet one, Bull to the red. One last time, Lucy made her voice shine on this delicate love song which ended on a very nice sing-along.

On a night where conditions were probably not the best for the band, Lucy Rose put on a delightful show, sharing a lot of smiles and undoubtedly will gain more and more fans with performances like the one we could happily hear in Paris. Lucy Rose is a great young talent and also very nice as a person and her future looks bright and promising.
