Les KayReaders amateurs de Soul sont décidément gâtés aujourd’hui. Sade, Jill Scott, et maintenant Ledisi. La chanteuse, qui avait volé la vedette à ses consœurs Jill Scott, Marsha Ambrosius et Kelly Price lors de la sublime interprétation de “Four Women”, s’apprête à sortir son sixième album solo. The singer, who stole the show during her rendition of “Four Women” with Jill Scott, Marsha Ambrosius and Kelly Price a few months ago, is getting ready to release her still untitled sixth studio album. The first single is a Chuck Harmony-produced song entitled “Pieces Of Me”. Check it out :

Ledisi is giving us a great soulful number, but still quite accessible to the masses, thanks to her simple yet catchy melody. This is Ledisi we are talking about, so there’s no way you’ll find your typical basic vocal arrangement. Ledisi’s vocal delivery is complex but totally mastered, proving that she’s definitely one of the best vocalists out there in this current industry. This song is hardly original, but is very enjoyable and deserves a straight success in the Billboard R&B charts. Needless to say, I cannot wait to see Ledisi perform this song live!

Ledisi nous offre ici un titre Soul très accessible à la masse, avec une mélodie simple mais catchy. S’agissant de Ledisi, l’on peut constater une certaine complexité dans les arrangements vocaux de la chanson, en particulier dans les couplets. Quelle voix! Cette chanson n’a rien de bien original, mais elle reste totalement appréciable et mériterait un franc succès dans les charts R&B du Billboard. J’attends une prestation live de ce titre avec impatience!
