Ancienne muse et compagne du musicien britannique Tricky, Martina Topley-Bird participera à plusieurs de ses albums ("Maxinquaye", "Nearly God", "Pre-Millennium Tension", "Angels with Dirty Faces") avant de se lancer dans une carrière solo et de sortir trois albums : "Quixotic" (2003) ressorti aux Etats-Unis sous le nom "Anything" (2004), "The Blue God" (2008) et "Some Place Simple" (2010). Entre carrière solo et collaborations (elle est notamment présente sur l'excellent album de Massive Attack "Heligoland" avec les deux titres "Babel" et "Psyche"), Martina Topley-Bird est devenue la baby blue du trip hop.
