A l'occasion des prochains Ateliers du Forum (20-22 novembre 2013), rendez-vous international des professionnels et artistes avec les technologies pour la musique et le son, l'Ircam et la Gaîté lyrique s'associent pour créer Ircam live, une soirée de performances suivie par un concert d’un artiste du label Warp dans la grande salle de la Gaité lyrique le 21 novembre 2013. L’événement Ircam live a pour but de promouvoir l’utilisation de nouvelles technologies dans la composition et les performances musicales.

Dans ce cadre, le Forum Ircam et la Gaîté lyrique lancent un appel à œuvres / performances. L'appel est ouvert à tous les artistes internationaux, sans condition d’âge, de nationalité ou d'univers musical. Les lauréats seront choisis selon un processus de sélection en ligne. Un jury composé de membres du Forum, des représentants du label Warp, la Gité lyrique, l'Ircam et d’autres professionnels du son (ingénieurs, designers, artistes) sera chargé de retenir les œuvres qui seront jouées par les artistes eux-mêmes lors de la soirée du 21 novembre à la Gaîté lyrique. Chaque candidature sera évaluée sur les critères de la qualité artistique et du caractère innovant de la pièce.

Les œuvres proposées doivent présenter un projet déjà réalisé, produit ou dans un état avancé de production. Les lauréats seront encadrés par l'administration du Forum Ircam en vue d’une nouvelle production des œuvres lors de la soirée du 21 novembre à la Gaîté lyrique. L'Ircam et la Gaîté lyrique s'engagent à fournir des équipements standard de production (décrits ici) ainsi que la grande salle pour une répétition et pour l'événement. Tout autre coût artistique ou lié à la location d'équipements supplémentaires doit être mentionné dans le dossier et pris en charge par le postulant. Les frais de transport et de hébergement seront à sa charge.

La date limite de candidature est le 10 septembre 2013 (minuit - heure de Paris). Les résultats seront communiqués le 10 octobre 2013 au plus tard et les artistes lauréats signeront une convention avec le Forum Ircam. Voir les conditions d’éligibilité et instructions ci-dessous.

• Le projet doit être déjà crée, ou en état avancé ou prêt à être produit.
• La priorité sera donnée aux performances qui sont programmables sur scène pendant un concert dédié. Les installations art/son seront toutefois considérées;
• La durée des performances doit avoir une durée de 10 à 15 minutes;
• Les pièces doivent être réalisables et reproductibles selon la fiche technique soumise et suivant le dossier technique de la Grande Salle (document PDF);
• Le projet doit représenter l'utilisation de nouvelles technologies, ou montrer les nouveaux paradigmes technologiques sur la scène.

Créer un compte (ou utiliser un compte déjà existant) sur http://www.ulysses-network.eu/. Après avoir créé le profil, postuler pour “Forum2013” via le “Your Application” panel (ou appuyer sur APPLY en bas de cette page). Vous pouvez sauver votre formulaire tel un draft avant la date limite de soumission. Le système vous avertira pour chaque formulaire incomplet avant la soumission finale.

Une candidature complète est composée de:

• CV et Biographie (texte ou PDF)
• Abstract: Courte présentation (300 mots) du projet proposé.
• Description détaillée (PDF): un document PDF qui décrit le projet proposé: description artistique, description technologique et matériel technique requis.
• Fiche technique (text): Description détaillée du matériel requis pour la production de la pièce (hardware et software + performers), indiquant ceux fournis par la salle (en utilisant le dossier technique en ligne) et ceux fournis par l'artiste. Le dossier technique de la Grande Salle est disponible ici (document PDF).
• Matériel multimedia: un enregistrement de la performance ou travail artistique (audio, ou vidéo ou partitions).

• Dossier soumis en français ou en anglais.
• La procédure de candidature se fait exclusivement en ligne. Le matériel envoyé par la poste ou par mail ne sera pas considéré.
• La date limite de candidature est fixée au 15 Septembre (minuit - heure de Paris). Aucune exception ne sera accordée.
• Tout le matériel envoyé sera considéré comme confidentiel et ne sera pas utilisé par l'Ircam, la Gaité lyrique ou une tierce partie sans l'accord du candidat.
• L'appel pour les travaux artistiques et les performances ne concerne pas des créations d'œuvres. Il ne s'agit donc pas d'une commande.
• L'objectif de cet appel est de promouvoir des artistes et reproduire des travaux existants ou d'encourager la production de performances avancées. Aucun coût supplémentaire comme les cachets d'artistes et autres matériels que ceux décrit dans la fiche technique, à part la mise en place des oeuvres et communication, ne sera considéré par les organisateurs.

Call for entries

For the 20th edition of the Forum Workshops (November 20-22, 2013)—the annual international meeting of professionals and artists with technology for music and sound—IRCAM Forum and the Gaîté lyrique have come together to create the IRCAM Live concert on November 21. This evening of performances promotes the use of new technologies in composition and musical performances and will feature a concert by an artist from the Warp label.

The IRCAM Forum and the Gaîté lyrique are launching a call for artworks and performances for this event. The program in open to all artists, regardless of age, nationality, or artistic background. An online jury consisting of IRCAM Forum members, representatives of Warp, Gaîté lyrique, Ircam team and other sound professionals (engineers, designers, artists) will select the works performed by the artists themselves during the concert on November 21st at the Gaîté lyrique. Each application will be judged in terms of its artistic quality and innovative character.

The proposed works must present a project that has already been produced or is in the final stages of production. Upon nomination, selected artists will be guided by the IRCAM Forum administration for the preparation of the evening’s concert. IRCAM and the Gaîté lyrique will provide standard performance material (detailed here) and setup on stage as well as rehearsal time at the venue. All costs including musician hire or special material are at the discretion of the artists. We do not provide the cost of transportation or accommodation for winners.

Submission deadline is September 10, 2013 (midnight Paris time). Results will be announced by October 10, 2013. See eligibility and instructions below.

In order to be eligible, the submitted project is:

• An already produced work, or is in the final stages of production and ready to be produced. This call is by no means a commission for new works.
• Priority is given to performances that are programmable on stage during a concert. Art/sound installations are however considered.
• Submitted performances should have last between 10 and 15 minutes
• Realizable and reproducible following the submitted technical datasheet and taking into consideration the available equipment (see PDF).
• Represent the use of new technologies, or demonstrate new paradigms involving new technologies on stage.

Priority is given to members of the IRCAM Forum or submissions demonstrating IRCAM technologies in an artistic context.

A complete submission includes:

• Technical Datasheet (text): Detailed text description of the technical requirements for the piece production (hardware and software materials required + performers) indicating whether they will be provided by the artist or should be provided by the venue. • Multimedia material: A recording of the proposed performance/art work (audio, or video or score).
