Alberto Fabbian et Paola Amabile, jeune duo de designers italiens nous présentent Workbench, entre création et exploration, ils tentent la rencontre entre deux artisanats traditionnels, d’un côté le travail de l’argile (porcelaine), de l’autre l’osier.
Délicatesse de porcelaine, courbure d’osier, cette recherche expérimentale explore deux techniques pour en allier les caractéristiques, pour un résultat tout en délicatesse, de fines tiges d’osier courbées viennent parfaitement s’emprisonner sur ces plateaux de porcelaine formant une nouvelle dimension.
Une disposition parfaite pour la présentation de toasts de manière verticale au petit matin non ?
« Workbench Tray represents a new phase of Workbench, a deep research project that explores feelings and technical possibilities of wicker and clay combining them together, in order to identify new languages and processes. Entirely handmade with natural materials, Workbench Tray is the result of knowledges and intuitions reached inside different craftsmen workshops. The delicacy of porcelain joins the flexibilty of wicker thanks to a single wire that runs all along the tray, completing naturally its essential shape. A wood base sustains the object highlighting its lightness.«
