Orange and Barclaycard together for mobile payment services

Publié le 17 mars 2009 par Philippe Lerouge

The two companies will launch a series of mobile financial services in the UK, with the final purpose of “revolutionizing the way people pay on the high street and web”.

By using the upcoming services, customers should be able to pay for what they shop with their mobile phone, by simply waving the device against a card reader. The wireless payments will be powered by MasterCard. Apart from that, the services will also include stuff like mobile alerts and banking applications. Moreover, mobile ticketing and transport services are planned.

It’s said that about 28 million people could benefit from Orange and Barclaycard’s co-branded services.

Their first products will be launched starting the next few months. source: unwiredview.com   press release
