Review

"Promoting" their last album "California" in this European show, Mr Bungle show their capacity to perform live complex material. Frontman Mike Patton plays with his voice like no other singer can, and band members sure know their stuff : all songs sound great. Some numbers (My Ass...) sounds very different from the studio versions, but the style is there !
My favorite song here would be "Pink Cigarette", which sounds just like the version on "California", and although there's a slight fuck up by the guitarist ion the first part of the song.
There's a cut in between the last two songs, I wonder if the performance was completely recorded or some songs are missing.
The band seems to enjoy themselves, although you can feel they concentrate a lot on there playing. Trevor Dunn wears his classic contry girl outfit. Patton has his black cat sitting on his keyboards.
The quality of this recording is perfect : both audio and video are perfect, and i wouldnt be surprised if this was sourced from the master VHS. The menu is nice and simple, easy to navigate.
Note that there's a bonus with fantomas interviews and footage.
Overall, I'd say this is one to have on your collection of you're a fan. It's my favorite Mr Bungle video, and the quality makes it even more enjoyable.
