Just like my last post about Holana, The Open up and bleeds is one of those bands I write about a lot even if they have not released any album yet. Their debut is about to be released though and the band is currently recording many songs. The matrix of their sound remains with a mix of anger, darkness and nostalgia.
Cut me a live one is one of their new tunes. It is actually not posted on their MySpace page yet. Compare to their previous songs, this one is more epic, more pompous. I tend to prefer when they keep it raw - like in their songs Same old song, Stiv Bators in all of us and Let's go to modernism - but this is the kind of song that shows the OUaBs are able to take some little different paths. And I love the unexpected beeeeps they added in the chorus!

Tout comme dans mon dernier billet sur Holana, The Open up and bleeds est l'un de ces groupes dont j'ai déjà beaucoup parlé alors qu'ils n'ont pas encore sorti d'album. Leur premier est prévu pour bientôt et ils enregistrent actuellement pas mal de nouveaux titres. La matrice de leur son semble désormais achevée : un mélange de rage, noirceur et nostalgie.
Cut me a live one est un de leurs nouveaux morceaux et ne figure pas encore sur leur page MySpace. Par rapport à leurs précédentes réalisations, ce morceau est davantage grandiloquent, voire pompeux. Je préfère quand ils sont plus nerveux et directs - comme dans leurs chansons Same old song, Stiv Bators in all of us et Let's go to modernism - mais ce Cut me a live one prouve que les OUaBs sont capables de modifier légèrement leur orientation musicale. Et j'aiime beaucoup les biiiips inattendus qu'ils ont ajouté dans leur refrain !
