Depuis la nouvelle mise à jour iOS6, vous l’aurez remarqué! l’application Maps de Google a disparu.. Remplacé par une nouvelle Appli Apple dite de « Turn-by-Turn ».
L’application Plan iOS 6 utilisea votre GPS pour vous guider selon votre position…
Une fois arrivée à une étape intermédiaire, l’application vous fournit l’étape intermédiaire suivante, jusqu’à votre destination finale.
La disparition de l’application Maps de Google, issu des différents commerciaux et stratégiques entre les 2 geants que sont Apple et Google, a accéléré la disparition du partenariat qui liait l’iPhone à Google via ses applications: Fin de Youtube, Fin de Maps, etc..
Le CEO d’Apple, Tim Cook a publié une lettre d’excuse cette semaine, après les lourdes critiques publiées dans la presse sur cette nouvelle application.
Un reproche majeur, l’application ne fait pas finie.. Les principales fonctionnalités ne sont disponibles qu’aux USA, et encore lorsqu’elles fonctionnent (Fonction 3D). Pour l’Europe… et bien peu de choses… il faudra patienter encore un peu pour avoir des plans 3D..

At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to our customers. With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.
We launched Maps initially with the first version of iOS. As time progressed, we wanted to provide our customers with even better Maps including features such as turn-by-turn directions, voice integration, Flyover and vector-based maps. In order to do this, we had to create a new version of Maps from the ground up.
There are already more than 100 million iOS devices using the new Apple Maps, with more and more joining us every day. In just over a week, iOS users with the new Maps have already searched for nearly half a billion locations. The more our customers use our Maps the better it will get and we greatly appreciate all of the feedback we have received from you.
While we’re improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app.
Everything we do at Apple is aimed at making our products the best in the world. We know that you expect that from us, and we will keep working non-stop until Maps lives up to the same incredibly high standard.

Apple a donc pris conscience que son application est loin de faire l’unanimité.
Au moins, Apple est clair, elle propose et conseil ses clients de tester d’autres applications au cas ou ceux ci seraint mécontents de l’application installée par défaut.
Vous aurez le choix d’utiliser soit, l’application Maps de Google en format « Page Web »: Google, Bing, MapQuest, Waze ou Nokia
ou bien de passer via une Appli dédiée iOS dans la nouvelle section crée pour l’occasion par Apple:
