Albert Puig, jeune designer espagnol nous présente AlterEgo, une chaise géométrique reposant sur la forme triangulaire, représentation de son propre caractère à trois facettes.
« Alterego is one of his latest projects; a chair that attempts to translate his personal character –his being– directly into an everyday object such as a chair.«
Le designer s’implique dans sa création, mais ici encore un peu plus, il se détermine comme audacieux, complexe et double, trois traits de caractère venant former le triangle de base de conception.
« This is a chair with a strong formal complexity but, at the same time, it is developed by the repetition of the same shape. This is an important aspect that enables the designer to accelerate its production process. A clean and symmetrical structure, with aggressive yet sophisticated lines, it has a backrest that adapts to the lumbar area and clears the spinal column, offering a greater feeling of freedom.«
Un look agressif, presque animal, nous rappelant certaines créatures de films, Albert Puig simplifie la fabrication de sa chaise par l’utilisation répétée de pièce identiques.
Réalisée entièrement à la main, le tout en hêtre massif, il teinte l’assise et dossier pour marquer la fonction première de sa chaise.
