Le top 50 de ma méconnaissance musicale

Les fins d’année sont propices aux bilans et classements en tout genre. Ces dernières semaines ont vu fleurir, comme chaque année, un nombre insolent de tops 20/50/100 des meilleurs albums/singles/artistes de l’année 2008 par les pontes de l’actu musicale: Rolling Stone, Spin, NME. C’est le moment où je tombe dans le fossé de mon inculture musicale, malgré mes efforts pour muscler cette connaissance en multipliant les téléchargements inconnus du grand public, écumant les sites de hits indé obscurs, prospectant des concerts à l’aveuglette dans l’espoir de découvrir l’artiste-révélation et autres singeries de ce type pour étoffer un peu plus ma bibliothèque iTunes. Pourtant dès que je regarde le Top 100 des meilleurs titres de l’année selon Pitchfork, je me sens soudainement rabaissée à ma triste condition de mélomane populiste et démago et tombe dans un trou de noms inconnus qui m’agressent tout en me disant quelque chose sans pour autant m’éclairer. Que l’on se rassure, sur la liste, j’en connais au moins… 41 (qui dit mieux?). Je suis néanmoins bien contente de voir les Fleet Foxes en deuxième position du classement et ravie de découvrir Hercules and Love Affair qui rafle la tête de liste (voir la vidéo ci-dessous). Y a encore du boulot. Vous croyez que si j’écoute tout ça avant 2009, je serais à la page? Je vous prépare mon top à moi pour un prochain post, c’est promis.
