Christian Chelman, l'auteur de Légendes Urbaines et du Compendium Sortilégionis, conservateur du Surnateum (Museum d'Histoire Surnaturelle que vous pouvez retrouver ici , vient de sortir PARADISE LOST, la version ultime de PACTE, routine bien connue des magiciens penchés sur l'illusionnisme fantastique.
Comme quelques autres, j'ai pu voir l'évolution de cette routine qui est aujourd'hui commercialisée. C'est l'aboutissement d'une des meilleures routines de Christian Chelman, qui est en sortie officielle le 09/09/09...
Du beau travail et de la belle réalisation. Rien que de savoir que c'est une coproduction Card-Shark, ça vous montre déjà ce que ca donne...

Well, you may wonder what the effect is... Your audience sees two sets of 6 of Spades and a blank card which mysteriously and repeatedly travels from one packet to the other one: escaping the clutches of Hell to safety! All this is explained by an eerie tale where your "oh-so-clever" cousin is outsmarted by the Devil himself as he didn't keep a pact he sealed with him in New Orleans. The effect is the final evolution of Pact, a trick first explained in English by Christian in his book, Capricornian Tales, and the effect itself is a lesson in routining a text with the magical techniques necessary to create the illusion of Magic.
You can read an abridged version of the story (50% of a Bizarre Magick effect) which, sadly, doesn't convey the full magic of the effect, in an old post by Christian on The Magic Café and this should help you get an idea of what the story is.
Let's now discuss the fine print: when you buy the effect, you receive a 24-pages booklet with clear and detailed instructions on how to perform the routine and how to integrate the techniques with the story; a set of custom playing cards (manufactured by card-shark.de especially for Christian); six antique multi-coloured doubloons that are essential to the story; and a specially-printed leaflet that will help you perform the routine. If you buy the routine, you'll also acquire non-exclusive performance rights for the effect for live performances: you can use this effect for paid or unpaid engagements. You will NOT, however, acquire the rights to television and Internet performances: these will have to be arranged directly with Christian Chelman.
