Let the water flow in peace

Yesterday, at 4 am, Istanbul has been victim of floads following torrential rains. The water covered highways and residential areas in certain districts of the European side of the city and left 31 deads and hundreds of millions of dollars damage. Do not blame the nature for this disaster, because it has nothing to do. When we destroy the nature with wild urbanization, when we dry streams to construct buildings in their beds, this is the sad but simple result: The water always finds its way. Peace to the souls of the victims.
Hier, à 4h du matin, Istanbul a été victime des inondations suite à des pluies torrentielles. L’eau a recouvert les autoroutes et les zones d’habitation dans certains districts de la côte européenne de la ville et a fait 31 morts ainsi que des centaines de millions de dollars de dégâts. N’accusons pas la nature pour cette catastrophe, car elle n’y est pour rien. Quand on détruit la nature avec une urbanisation sauvage, quand on fait sécher les ruisseaux pour construire des bâtiments dans leurs lits, on obtient ce résultat triste mais simple: L’eau trouve toujours son chemin. Paix aux âmes des victimes.
