Melon – Megahouse (Blowfish)

Aujourd'hui, une nouvelle participation s'ajoute à la longue liste de Shadonia, et c'est Blowfish, auteur de Flying Pussyfoot qui nous présente Melon, une figurine haute en couleurs.

Melon is the Akikan of the male lead (whose name Ive forgotten but we dont care about him anyways) and is actually a Melon Soda Can (suprise,suprise).Her appearance and attacks are themed around melons but the most obvious thing I think about when hearing the word Melon wasnt melonified: her boobs. I am happy with them as they as they are but isnt it a bit weird to give a Melon Girl normal boobs?

Melon est l'Akikan du protagoniste de la série (dont j'ai oublié le nom mais peu importe), et est en fait un canette de soda au Melon (surprise, surprise). Son apparence et ses attaques sont à l'image du Melin, mais la chose la plus évident, je pense, concerne ses seins. Je suis heureux que ces derniers soient ce qu'ils sont, mais n'est-ce pas un peu bizarre de donner à une fille melon, des seins ?

Megahouse had the guts to release a figure of a show that got little to no positive feedback from the otaku crowd and as expected she landed in the bargain bin a few months later.Thats where I picked her up since I eyed her for a long time anyways.

Megahouse a eut le cran de réaliser une figurine d'une série qui a eut peu, ou pas de feedback de la part des Otaku, et, comme prévu, elle s'est retrouvée en promotion, quelques mois plus tard. C'est à ce moment là que je l'ai acheté, après l'avoir eut à l'oeil pendant un moment.

One of the first things that pops into your eyes is the fact that shes a “floating” figure thats merely secured by a metal rod  that goes into one of  her legs and the Akikan Title the other leg is resting on.It is definately a risky pose for a PVC figure and I cant tell if shell lean in the future or not.As of now shes floating without any signs of leaning though.

L'une des choses qui nous saute aux yeux, c'est l'aspect "flottant" de cette figurine, qui n'est maintenue que par une tige de métal qui entre dans l'un de ses pieds, et par le titre Akikan sur lequel l'autre jambe est posée. C'est définitivement une pose risquée pour une figurine en PVC, et je ne sais pas si cela tiendra avec le temps. Pour l'instant, elle flotte, sans aucun signe d'une éventuelle inclinaison à venir.

The next thing youll notice is that this figure renders Melon as a natural boke and this is my biggest beef with this figure.Her facial expression and especially the eyes make her look as stoned as a Bob Marley.I never had that impression of her in the anime and I seriously wonder if Megahouse tried to imitate QUALITY Animation or if this was just an accident.If youre digging the boke look be sure to pose her from her left side,she looks especially stoned that way.

La seconde chose que vous remarquerez, c'est l'expression de Melon, qui n'est pas très naturelle. L'expression de son visage et surtout ses yeux lui donne un air défoncé à la Bob Marley. Je n'ai jamais eut cette impression dans l'anime, et je me demande sérieusement si Megahouse a tenté d'imité la QUALITE de l'animation, or si c'est juste un accident. En tout cas, quand on la regarde, elle a vraiment l'air défoncée.

Id like to see her face as an hommage to the anime since the rest of the figure is the expected Megahouse quality.Her outfit is dominated by different shades of green wich is counterbalanced by some white elements.Sounds relatively boring on paper but looks very vibrant and interesting in real life.This is also thanks to the good paint application and I especially like how the outer lines of her outfit are rendered with glossy green paint.

J'aurais voulu un visage qui rendrait hommage à l'anime, tout en ayant la qualité attendue de Megahouse. Sa tenue est dominée par différents tons de vert, contrastée par du blanc. Même si cela semble ennuyeux dit comme cela, cela rend très bien en vrai. C'est grâce à un bon travail de peinture, et j'aime surtout le rendu des lignes  extérieures avec cette peinture verte brillante.

Her hair is made of slightly translucent material and while I normally hate translucent hair its done just right with Melon.I usually think that translucent hair  looks cheap but Melons hair has  just the right shade of blonde to hint at its translucency without looking bad.Melons two green translucent hairbeads are nicely incorporated into her hair and cover up the connection between two hair pieces.

Ses cheveux sont fais avec un matériel légèrement translucide, et alors que je n'aime pas ça habituellement, cela rend bien sur Melon. Je pense généralement que les cheveux translucides font bon marché, mais les cheveux de Melon ont une bonne teinte blonde, qui ne rend pas trop mal. Les deux boules vertes dans ses cheveux y sont très bien intégrés, et cachent ainsi le raccord entre deux mèches.

Its a shame that Melon bombed since Megahouse has put some effort into her,besides the face, as its appearant with all the little details like the can-tab-earring or the green shimapan.Yet,I can understand why she didnt sell since the show itself bombed and her design isnt unique enough to draw in outsiders like eroge figures do so often.

C'est dommage que Melon n'ait pas connu de succès alors que Megahouse a réalisé un certain effort avec elle, malgré le visage, il y a des petits détails appréciables. Néanmoins je peux comprendre qu'elle n'a pas marché, à cause de l'anime d'origine, et de son design unique, qui n'attire pas les étrangers comme c'est souvent le cas pour les figurines issues d'eroge.

I am personally a bit let down by her face and therefore Id rate her as  an average to good figure if youre a fan of the franchise. I am glad that I found her for a nice  price in the garbage bin since shes a nice addition to my figure collection that isnt castoff.

Personnellement, je suis un peu déçu par son visage, et donc c'est une figure qui plaira si vous avez aimez la série. Je suis heureux de l'avoir trouvé à bon prix, c'est vraiment un bel ajout dans ma collection de non cast-off.
