Russell James is an Aussie fashion photographer, who I think, as a gift when it comes to enhance women’s body. He is famous for being the main photographer for Victoria secret. He actually is one of the world leading photographers.
Obviously I discovered his work with Victoria secret. Being obsessed with the brand (By the way, why aren’t they opening a store in France) I currently check the new items, the catalogs n so on… I particularly loved the swimsuit catalogue 2010, the pictures were powerful and the bodies were literally shaped and build in a very esthetic ways… Far from the skinny little thing we are use to see, here the models radiate. They look strong and healthy. You can also feel a lot of sensuality and an edge of wildness… I would describe the model as modern goddess, sculpted in flesh with perfection.
Russell James is also truly attached to his country and his representation of it is always sharp, strong and breathtaking. Personally I feel so many emotions seeing those pictures.
He can also be quite provocative and has taken few backstage pictures which are like no other. He has worked on some nude pictures as well. And even though they can appear to be quite simple, I feel there is something special about them, a snapshot of life, of joy, a glimpse through the models’ soul as if, for once, they were free from the camera and from the frame in which they must fit.
