The blog has been feeling the side effect of my marathon training. It's been a month since we went to Charlotte and I didn't even finish talking about it... The second day, Hubby was training. So I started my day with a run that took me uptown Charlotte. It was very nice because flat, however I wasn't crazy about all the street light. I also went to Amelie's French bakery for a few French treats and meet Hubby in the park with it for lunch.

We enjoyed some cheese, egg and spinach croissants along with some chips leftover from our dinner at Dandelion Market.

For dessert I picked some tea cakes flavored with almond and lemon. I think I felt the butter more than the flavors, but it was still pretty moist.

I really enjoyed it. The museum has several section. At the top a gallery on American arts with paintings and scultptures from the 17th century to today. I especially liked the costumes as well as a lovely desk that had been made by a slave at the time. A little surprise for me, was to come across a Norman Rockwell painting.

Je me suis régalée.
They had an exhibit on fairytales, fear and fiction which gathered the work of several artists with very interesting art pieces. One of them was a wolf in the red ridding hood outfit. The particularity of it was that the wolf structure was covered in tar.
However my favorite part was the element gallery. Craft art, glass work, ceramics, wood, fibers. I loved it. If I had had more time I would have been able to go to the other Mint Museum in town since the $10 entry fee covers both. Next time maybe?
