Chic Maker de Septembre – La Neon Touch!

Après la tendance “beauty box”, Chic Maker se lance dans la tendance D.I.Y. ou Do It Yourself. Qu’est-ce donc? Et bien il s’agit de réaliser votre propre bijoux en recevant chaque mois un kit comprenant tout le nécessaire. J’ai eu l’occasion de recevoir (merci!) celui de septembre qui permettait de réaliser un collier fluo à strass. Bien dans la tendance du moment! En plus des fils, petits brillants, plumes, fermoirs,… j’ai aussi reçu le Starter Kit comprenant diverses pinces, un mètre ainsi que de la colle et un petit baton pour l’appliquer.

After the “beauty box” trend, Chic Maker launches the D.I.Y. or Do It Yourself one. What’s that? Well the point is to make your own jewellery thanks to a monthly kit with everything you need. I had the opportunity (thank you!) to try the September one which contains everything to make a sparkly neon necklace. Perfectly on trend! In addition to the threads, sparkly stones, feathers, clasps,… I also received the Starter Kit containing various pliers , as well as a tape measure, glue and a little stick to apply it.

 

Comme je suis un peu rebelle (ahem!), j’ai préféré en faire un bracelet dont j’aurai plus l’usage qu’un collier ras du cou. Grâce au petit feuillet explicatif j’ai trouvé la réalisation assez simple. La difficulté augmente un peu au moment de la mise en place du fermoir. Il faut couper très court mais pas trop pour entrer les fils dans le fameux fermoir et là avec seulemement deux mains je n’ai pas trouvé cela hyper évident! Un de mes fils est sorti et donc j’ai du un peu bidouiller avec de la colle. Mais bon cela ne se voit pas trop. Le fermoir est super car il s’agit d’un aimant donc très facile pour fermer le bracelet (ou collier).

Since I am a bit of a rebel (as if!), I decided to make a bracelet. I thought I’d wear it more often than a necklace. The little leaflet explains everything very well and thus I found it very easy to make. I just thought that attaching the clasps was kinda tricky. You have to cut the threads quite short but not too short so that they fit in the clasps, and it wasn’t super easy! One of the threads came out of the clasp as I was closing it, and so I had to cut it afterward and put some glue to fix it. It’s alright though as you can’t really see it. The clasp is awesome though because it’s magnetic so super easy to close for a bracelet (or necklace).

En pratique le kit coûte €24,90/mois. L’abonnement se fait par le site et ils livrent dans le monde entier sans frais supplémentaire. Le Starter Kit (valeur €20) vous est offert si vous vous engagez pour 3 mois. La version anglaise du site arrive bientôt.

Je trouve l’idée vraiment sympa alors je souhaite beaucoup de succès à Chic Maker. Je pense que ce serait un cadeau original pour une ado. Peut-être même quelqu’un de plus jeune, cela peut-être une chouette activité entre mère et fille par exemple. Et vous cela vous tente?

I really think it’s a fun idea so I wish a lot of success to Chic Maker. Personally I think it’d make an original gift for a teenage girl. Or even a younger one (mom and daughter bonding time!). Are you tempted?
