En 1957 Arne Jacobsen imagine la chaise Grand Prix, culte, intemporelle et j’en passe, mêlant assise en bois et piètement en métal. Un demi-siècle plus tard le designer Diego Grandi en collaboration avec l’artiste tatoueur Pietro Sedda souhaitent rendre hommage à cette création par une exposition mêlant art graphique et design.
« Diego Grandi decided to celebrate the authenticity of the chair by writing a story directly onto its “skin”. The lines of this iconic chair evoke the grace of a human body and for this reason the idea is to look at it like a body enhancing its peculiarities with an intimate, indelible, enduring sign. Grandi decided to ask Pietro Sedda to work with ink on nine chairs (seven wood and two leather), looking at the shape as a human figure, a body to be decorated.«
Chaque pièce devenant ainsi unique, 9 chaises personnalisées, venant nous raconter une nouvelle histoire.
Elles seront ensuite mise en vente aux enchères au profit d’un organisme caritatif.
