Les "great danes" sont des chiens très affectueux adorant la compagnie. Cette petite fille malade des os a trouvé le compagnon idéal qui la suit partout docilement. Malheureusement cette variété de mastiff, en raison de sa corpulence, a une durée de vie très courte de l'ordre de 6 à 8 ans.
On imagine alors le déchirement pour cette petite fille. J'ai trouvé ce commentaire de vétérinaire (sous la vidéo) qui suggère qu'il faudrait que la famille adopte un autre chien affectueux de type golden retriever par exemple pour atténuer la douleur après le décès de son compagnon.

I'm a vet. Danes can certainly live longer than that (8 years), although they of course don't live as long as smaller dogs. Probably before he dies, he will be too frail for her to lean on in this way. If I were the parents I would get her another dog (Probably a golden or something that lives longer) so she can have them both for a while. That way George can have a sort of semi-retirement of spending time with her but not having to "work" all the time and she can start getting used to a new dog.
I'm sure she will be heartbroken when George dies, but honestly, she's already probably had more pain (both emotionally and physically) than most of us. :-(
