Avant l’introduction de ces services, l’avion sera exploité sur certains vols à destination de Bangkok et de Kuala Lumpur dans le cadre de la formation des équipages.

Le 787 Dreamliner désigne une famille d’avions commerciaux entièrement nouveaux et super-efficients capables de parcourir de longues distances tout en offrant une efficacité énergétique 20 à 25 % supérieure par siège pour un niveau d’émissions inférieur aux avions qu’ils remplacent. La combinaison d’un long rayon d’action et de faibles coûts d’exploitation permet aux compagnies aériennes d’opérer davantage de vols de façon rentable.

Depuis 2011, plus de 640 exemplaires du Dreamliner sont entrés en service, transportant plus de 230 millions de passagers sur plus de 680 itinéraires uniques à travers le monde, avec à la clé des économies de carburant estimées à plus de 10 millions de tonnes de carburant.

Version allongée du 787-9 dont il partage plus de 95 % des fonctionnalités et caractéristiques tout en disposant de sièges supplémentaires et d’une capacité d’emport de fret supérieure, le « tiret 10 » établit une nouvelle référence sur le plan de la consommation de carburant et des coûts d’exploitation. En effet, cet avion est 25 % plus économe et plus propre que les modèles qu’il remplacera.
