Nanushka's Spring Summer 2020 Womenswear collection commemorates a nostalgic manifestation of summertime memories. Tribal elements are mixed with Riviera-inspired styles; owing shapes and cinched accentuations melt together to create a warm-weather wardrobe for the modern woman. "Faded By The Sun" focuses on summer silhouettes and natural coloration to create a rich collective of draped garments mixed with Mediterranean elements in a tribute to Loulou de la Falaise's summer of 1972 spent in Patmos.
With different eras of culture and tradition being explored, classic tailoring is displayed in column silhouettes in a tted and owy way for a breezy feel. An antique greek aesthetic is channeled by draping, layering and tieing, all built within one piece of fabric. Volumes of clothes are featured in extra-large proportions that revisit masculine dressing styles while a modern take on Roaring Twenties winded silhouettes and necklines make a comeback. Signature vegan leather is rethought with draping and overlock stitching on Bermuda shorts, harem style pants and cropped camp shirts in shades of black, off white, and washed khaki.
Organic cotton and jersey have been transformed with fresh pops of lime and orange that are all smoothly tied together with splashes of creme and taupe. Conceptual Nanushka prints add elegance and ease with new shades of hand-dyed indigo transfused into organic cotton in relaxed styles. While handmade macrame drips down tech linen, new gures of rib knit, crochet knit and linen knit have been elevated with exaggerated fringe details that provide casual coverage for a cool summer evening breeze. Modernized blazers, vest dresses, boiler suits, and elongated skirts add a delicate edge while washed satin mini skirts and draped halter tops offer a sensual signature that's balanced out with rustic woven skirts and trousers. A textured canvas trench coat with alternative leather woven details mimics a straw baskets' weave, giving it a warm impression that acts as a statement due to the unconventional pairing.
In collaboration with Noha Studio, opportunities for employment within the small Hungarian village of Terény have been established with the objective to create special and individually unique hardware for the collection out of ceramics. Beads, buttons, and garment endings have been hand made with a more mindful approach in a cooperative effort that makes a difference within the lives of the women behind the pieces, teaching them a skill that enhances their talent based on the values of traditional craftsmanship. I'm a new Text block ready for your content.
