Listen to the balearic ambient sound of Iceland artist Tónarunur

Iceland artist Tonarunur presents " Dive Into The Night ", his debut EP on Cala Tarida Musica, the balearic and dream-house inspired label created by DJ Nova - former collaborator of legendary Irma label - and producers Adam Warped & DiBo.

The label previously hosted the music from A Vision Of Panaroma and label founder DiBo. This time it welcomes the beautiful sound of Tonarunur, hailing from the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik, which is also where he resides and works. He is influenced by various styles of music as well as by the surroundings in Reykjavik and his former cities of residence, Madrid and Oslo. His music is quite diverse, ranging from Sunday-friendly pieces to dancefloor-oriented grooves - formerly known as B.G. Baarregaard, he used to be a regular contributor to the Whiskey Disco label with his fine Nu Disco cuts.

On " Dive Into The Night ", Tonarunur explores a new sound palette ranging from early 90s dream house to balearic downtempo music, early UK acid house ala The Beloved, 808 State, A Guy Called Gerald, as well as Eno's early ambient excursions. Our two personal favorite are the latter, with ambient tracks " Laugardagur " and " Kuluvegen ", two exciting sound explorations where Tonarunur successfully creates surreal atmospheric musical moments.

You can preview and preorder the whole EP on Juno Records and we are hosting a premiere of the " Kuluvegen " track just below.
