John Tejada & Natan H team up on new project Machine Lab

Publié le 14 décembre 2020 par Crocblanc

John Tejada (Palette Recordings) & Natan H (Gauss) present new project Machine Lab. Two masters of their own art, throwing together a deep and futuristic electronica EP for the third release of LA-based label City On Fire.

Both professors at CalArts - California Institute of Arts -, Jonh Tejada and Natan H named this new project after their classroom's name.

The kind of artist that needs no introduction, John Tejada is a Vienna-born, Los Angeles-based electronic music composer and DJ. Tejada's professional output of music began in 1994 and has never vanished, including four albums for the revered label Kompakt, plus releases on Pokerflat, Cocoon, Plug Research, Seventh City, Playhouse, Defected, and his own label since 1996, Palette Recordings. Tejada has also been responsible for remixing over 100 songs for major acts including The Field, Kevin Saunderson, Darren Emerson, Gui Boratto, Simian Mobile Disco and many others. Tejada's latest venture as Wajatta is a new musical collaboration with international star Reggie Watts, having released their latest album " Don't Let Get You Down " in 2020 on Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder.

Natan H is a more confidential artist, known for his deep and inimitable style. Since his first outpout, Natan has released over twenty records on labels including Acid Camp, Altered Moods Recordings, Appian Sounds, in addition to two EPs on George Fitzgerald's ManMakeMusic. Together with Owen Jay, Natan produces as Gauss, operating the vinyl imprint under the same name.

Established since early 2020, City on Fire introduces itself as LA's scrappiest music label. Couting 2 releases so far in 2020 (from duo Curson, and the second from label head Drew Van Atten), City on Fire is now looking to expand a bit further with this 3rd release from the above mentioned LA legends John Tejada, and Natan H, under this new project Machine Lab.

You can listen to the B-side track " Thru Zero " as an exclusive premiere below. Both sides explore twisted glitchy electronica territories but this B track is definitely our pick up for this brillant release.
