2022 Bridal Collections

This season the Vivienne Westwood 2022 bridal offering is divided into three capsule collections; the made-to-order, couture and the Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood looks. The Vivienne Westwood 2022 made-to-order bridal collection embodies a sense of new beginnings; transparency in sheer fabrics, transformative elements, and metamorphic three-dimensional silhouettes. Unique Westwood pattern cutting techniques and fabrics, create looks with an ethereal quality - 'from another world, sculpted for goddesses', whilst contemporary exposed corsetry and layered tulle bring a painterly romance to the collection.

Symbolising renewal, floral details feature throughout the made-to-order collection. Three dimensional flowers adorn the corset of the mini Venus dress, embroidered flowers and ivy cascade down the sheer body of the Rhea column gown with exposed corsetry and fluttering confetti-like on the Princess dress, in the form of embroidered little leaves on tulle.

The Vivienne Westwood made-to-order bridal collection presents fifteen gowns and nine separate styling pieces, available in a selection of luxurious fabrics and finishings. Environmentally conscious fabric options include an ivory recycled tulle and an FSC certified viscose - as a vegan alternative to silk and satin. The Vivienne Westwood 2022 bridal couture collection takes inspiration from influential women from the arts and literature - from ancient Greece to modern day heroines. Drawing on these muses, and sculpting a look for the modern Westwood bride, the collection is hand-crafted from a rich selection of both opulent and delicate fabrics and embellishments. Historical cuts and modern silhouettes are hand-crafted with crystal & pearl embroidery, signature Chantilly lace and three-dimensional floral details. Pastel roses sit on sumptuous drapes of lace and tulle, hidden love notes are nestled within silk and embroidered onto transparent veils, whilst opera coats, embroidered with pearls and ostrich feathers, finish the avant-garde collection. This season the Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood Spring-Summer 2022bespoke bridal collection experiments with proportion - Looks sculpt an hourglass silhouette inspired by Marilyn Monroe and a classic 1950's look or present a modern interpretation of an historic Marie Antoinette gown, reminiscent of 18th century Versailles court dress. This exclusive collection in beaded tulle, white silk moiré and draped Chantilly lace is finished with delicate white feathers, silk taffeta bows and patchwork tulle boleros. The looks are taken from the Spring-Summer 2022 runway collection presented in Paris and can be made-to-measure for each client. For Vivienne Westwood, working towards a more sustainable way of producing fashion is not only about looking forwards to fabrics which create less impact on the environment, it is also about looking back to a traditional, smaller scale means of garment manufacture that has always had a much lower impact. Nurturing this truly bespoke craftmanship, Westwood aims to both utilise more environmentally sustainable forms of production, and to help support and sustain traditional craft and skilled workmanship, and the communities around them. The bespoke, made-to-order and bridal collections are designed, sampled and hand-crafted locally in England, working with traditional tailoring techniques - combined with historical and experimental pattern cutting.

Prioritising quality and longevity in the design of each gown, the couture team can now offer a service to transform each bridal gown post-wedding, with the aim to eliminate waste and give each Westwood gown a new life. Through a selection of offcut luxury fabrics, dying processes, silhouette alterations, embroidery, beading, applique and bespoke finishings, all expertly handcrafted by Westwood couturiers in the London atelier, the gown can be transformed into a timeless dress for all occasions. The 2022 Bridal Collections are available from Vivienne Westwood boutiques in:
London - 6 Davies Street
Milan - Corso Venezia, 25
New York - 14 E. 55th Street
Los Angeles - 8320 Melrose Avenue
