Shepard Fairey propaganda style

Cette affiche d'Obama tout le monde la connait maintenant, mais saviez-vous qu'elle est le travail d'un "jeune" graphiste né en 70 à Charleston Caroline du sud : Shepard Fairey?
Je ne ferai pas ici d'étude ou d'analyse sur le phénomène esthétisant de cette campagne, d'autres le font très bien. J'avais juste envie de vous faire connaître un graphiste que j'ai découvert bien avant cette campagne historique. Alors place aux images!

dont il a fait un genre d'icone en le placardant partout, un buzz renommé phénoménologie par l'artiste.
Phenomenologie : " The Obey campaign can be explained as an experiment in Phenomenology. the first aim of Phenomenology is to reawaken a sense of wonder about one's environment. The Obey Campaign attempts to stimulate curiosity and bring people to question both the campaign and their relationship with their surroundings. Because people are not used to seeing advertisement or propaganda for which the motive is not obvious, frequent and novel encounters with Obey propaganda provoke thought and possible frustration, nevertheless revitalising the viewer's perception and attention to detail."

Un petit mot d'Obey à propos du visuel de l'album MotherShip de Led Zeppelin :
“…I was recently asked to do the package for Led Zeppelin’s two CD one DVD greatest hits package Mothership. Zep is one of my favorite bands of all time and if they aren’t one of yours, you need to check that your DNA is human. If my art is 1 percent as good as this band I’m in good shape. What I’m trying to say is that the opportunity for me to hitch a ride on the coat tails of such an influential band is an honor and a coup…”
