Let's play! You know about the desert island thing, right? The impossible question : "if you move to a desert island and can only take three records with you, which ones would you chose?". Well, if I was about to move to a desert island and had to pick only three Swedish pop records... I would cancel my flight! Cause to me, right now, the two best Swedish pop bands have not released any album yet. Who are they? Holana and You say France & I whistle. Both deserve to be more famous than they are. I mentionned so much the first one, let's talk about the second one today.
More than a year ago, I told you about their When lovers die, an unstoppable joyful anthem. But, except the always brilliant blog Musik enligt Jerry (which did not put the song for download though), no one in the whole blogosphere seems to have ever talked about their song Second Thoughts. A pop gem. Seriously. I would even call it a "classic", or whatever excessive terms you will find. They remind me Weezer at their very beginning, with their "blue" album. If anyone had an explanation why this band remains unsigned, I would be very happy to hear it. Oh, and if you really have to go this goddamn island, just take the EP You say whistle & I whistle released in 2008 : you can buy it there ; there are at least four hits in it.

Jouons! Vous avez entendu parler de l'histoire de l'île déserte, hein ? L'impossible question : "si tu vas sur une île déserte et que tu ne peux emmener que trois disques, lesquels choisis-tu ?". Et bien, si je devais partir sur une île déserte avec trois disques de pop suédoise... j'annulerai mon vol ! Car, aujourd'hui, les deux meilleurs groupes de pop suédois n'ont pas encore sorti d'album. Il s'agit d'Holana et de You say France & I whistle Deux groupes qui restent malheureusement encore confidentiels dans leur propre pays. Puisque j'ai déjà évoqué le premier très souvent, parlons un peu plus du second.
Il y a plus d'un an, je vous parlais de When lovers die, leur hymne euphorisant imparable. Mais à part le toujours pertinent blog Musik enligt Jerry (qui ne proposait toutefois pas la chanson en téléchargement), personne ne semble avoir évoqué dans toute la blogosphère leur morceau Second Thoughts. Un joyau pop. J''irais même jusqu'à le taxer de "classique" ou de n'importe quel autre terme excessif que vous trouverez. Ces gars là me rappellent le Weezer du début, période "blue album". Si l'un d'entre vous a le moindre début d'idée sur la raison pour laquelle ce groupe n'a toujours pas de label, qu'il me fasse signe. Oh, et si vous devez vraiment vous rendre dans cette foutue île, apportez donc l'EP que You say France & I whistle a sorti en 2008. Vous pouvez l'acheter ici, vous y trouverez au moins quatre hits.
