"What the fuck?" This is what I thought after listening to Lost in the spinach, Sven Johansson Band's album. It is difficult to sum it up. It reminds me Adam Green at the beginning of his career, before the Moldy Peaches singer started to take himself seriously. Maybe because of the lyrics. A quite simple English to say quite weird things such as "I'm alone watching porn, it feels like I've been watching since the day that I was born" (in Alone in my mind) or "how do you know that you ain't from Mars, or some other planet out there. Do you remember being born. I don't think that you do" (in How do you know).
Eventually, you wonder how a guy as unsane as Sven Johansson could produce the delicate music of Dear Euphoria. The answer is probably in his passion for music and in his convictions about it: you can read on his band's MySpace "Sven Johansson Band only plays pure walk n' roll. We truly hate anything associated with the word rock". And since Sven hates the sonic quality of mp3s, he only released his record on vinyl. The Tho tuho bhell mp3 you can download here is a true rarity then. Enjoy it.

Il me rappelle Adam Green à ses débuts, avant que le chanteur des Moldy Peaches ne commence à se prendre au sérieux. Peut-être à cause des paroles. Un anglais basique pour exprimer des sentiments étranges comme "I'm alone watching porn, it feels like I've been watching since the day that I was born" ("je suis seul en train de regarder un film porno, on dirait que j'en ai regardé depuis ma naissance" sur Alone in my mind) ou "how do you know that you ain't from Mars, or some other planet out there. Do you remember being born. I don't think that you do" ("comment savez-vous que vous ne venez pas de Mars, ou d'une autre planète. Vous vous souvenez de votre naissance. Je ne crois pas" in How do you know).
Au final, vous en arrivez à vous demander comment un mec aussi barré que Sven Johansson a pu produire la délicate musique de Dear Euphoria.
