After 4 years of silence, James Holden returns with his brand new single: "Triangle folds”. It will be released on the compilation "DJ Kicks" published by the German label !K7 Recordings. This compilation mixed by the English guy himself will be available from 24 May 2010. This mix, whose playlist is available in the following article, includes tracks by various artists such as Caribou, Mogwai or Kieren Hebden's collaboration with the prolific jazz musician Steve Reid. !K7 has already announced that the next edition will be mixed by Kode9 aka Steve Goodman and will be released the first day of the summer June 21, 2010.

Founder of Border Community, James Holden had remained quiet since his last album "The idiots are winning" released in 2006. The same year, he released too "At the controls", a compilation of an eclectic mix of tech house and indie tracks coupled to an experimental musical selection.
On this compilation "DJ Kicks", it had previously suffered the law of other masters of electronic music such as Carl Craig, Tiga, Chicken Lips, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Booka Shade and The Juan MacLean or for the latest version published in April. This compilation is probably the most famous series in the world. It was launched in 1995 and was first mixed by the C. J. Bolland, well known for his song "Sugar Is Sweet" which hit the British and American charts of electronic music in 1996.

As for the track "Triangle folds" it consists of different elements that made the success of James Holden. It displays mainly all of the trademark Holden musical perversions: loose, live-feeling rhythms, quirky time signatures and the bare minimum of pandering. Quiet dark, it offers psychedelic and hypnotic samples, in a soft atmosphere, we must be confessed. Indeed, no big beats on the horizon, but rather a posed atmosphere, in which we travel. The whole composition gives birth to a joyful and delightful techno track. As James Holden said about this track: “It is all about catching a moment”.

Finally, note that the track was released on a dedicated opus with another track "Triangle folds in on itself" evolving in a similar mood, a bit more punchy but still eclectic. Après environ 4 ans de silence, James Holden revient avec son tout nouveau single: "Triangle folds". Celui-ci sortira sur la compilation « Dj Kicks » édité par le label allemand !K7 Recordings. Fondateur du label Border Community, James Holden était resté discret depuis son dernier album « The idiots are winning » sorti en 2006. La même année, il s’était fait remarqué avec « At the controls », une compilation éclectique mélangeant des tracks tech-house et indie le tout couplé à une sélection musicale expérimentale.
Concernant cette compilation « Dj Kicks », elle avait précédemment subit la loi d’autres maîtres de la musique électronique comme Carl Craig, Tiga, Chicken Lips, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Booka Shade ou encore The Juan MacLean pour la dernière version éditée en Avril. Cette compilation est sans doute la série la plus connue au monde. Elle fut lancée en 1995 et fut mixée en premier par le grand C. J. Bolland, notamment connu pour son titre « Sugar is sweeter » numéro 1 des charts anglais et américain en 1996.

Quant au track « Triangle folds » il se compose des différents éléments qui ont fait le succès de James Holden. Assez dark, il propose des montées psychédéliques et  des samples hypnotiques, dans une atmosphère globalement assez molle, il faut bien l’avouer. En effet, pas de gros beats à l’horizon, mais plutôt une ambiance posée, qui nous fait voyager. Le tout donne naissance à un track techno des plus jouissifs.

A noter enfin que le track sortira sur un opus dédié avec un autre titre « Triangle folds in on itself » qui évolue dans une atmosphère similaire, un peu plus punchy mais toujours aussi éclectique.
