The latest release of the label Systematic Recordings is simply unbelievable. Indeed, these tracks have been composed by the unlikely duo formed by Marc Romboy and Rodriguez Jr.. Boss of one of the biggest labels in the world, Marc Romboy teams up with the best artists and the result of this association with the guy from Montpellier (FR), is once again a success. "Lac de Nivelles" and "Couleur de l’Espoir ", two tracks minimal/techno perfectly blend the predilection styles of both men.

Rodriguez Jr. is truly an artist that we love on Actualités Electroniques. I had the chance to see him live at Rex Club in Paris a few weeks ago, behind the decks with the German producer. Half of The Youngsters, Rodriguez Jr. brings the happy notes to these tracks. He has recently released productions on Mobilee, Mothership and Boxer Recordings, he comes back before summer with tracks produced in the company of one of the most influential producer of the minimal and techno world. Marc Romboy has also recently released his own EP "Talking All That Jazz EP", also released on Systematic.
"Lac de Nivelles" is characterized by an entry with percussions and an instrument that has been used a little in electronic productions. It is the xylophone. We feel here the influence of Rodriguez Jr., and concerning the dark and underground bass, it has been influenced by Marc Romboy, no doubt. The mixture of the styles gives to the track a rare musical force. The track is cool and sharpens for the dancefloors.
The remix of Glimpse, also uses the xylophone, but in happier atmosphere. The track adds a touch of soul from the original and will also fire to dancefloors. There is also, in the distance, a voice that seems to say "Can you feel it? This energetic and effective vibe is a perfect complement to the original, with a break at the limit of perfection. It is the perfect track to be played around the swimming pool this summer, thanks to an irresistible groove.
"Couleur De L’Espoir" is a track based on deep and hypnotic sounds. This track revolves around water samples on which have been applied reverb effects. It then progresses slowly toward a deep and rather pleasant atmosphere. Quite different from the other production, the work done here is rather original with the alliance of different influences. You can also hear voice of children in the distance, all blending with the bass, always in a romboyfull spirit.
Undoubtedly the original track is the best, even if the remix of Glimpse is quiet good too. These tracks correspond to different moods, so see what your audience is expected and play the adapted version! These tracks are supported and played by Seth Troxler, Tiefschwarz, Sascha Funke, Ewan Pearson, Laurent Garnier, Kiki, Josh Wink, MANDY, Martin Landsky, Peter Kruder and many others. La dernière sortie du label Systematic Recordings est tout simplement hallucinante. Il s’agit de tracks composés par le duo improbable formé de Marc Romboy et Rodriguez Jr.. Patron de l’un des plus gros labels au monde, Marc Romboy s’entoure souvent des meilleurs et le résultat de l’association avec le montpelliérain est une fois de plus une vraie réussite. « Lac de Nivelles » et « Couleur de l’Espoir », deux tracks minimal/techno mélangent à la perfection les styles de prédilection des deux hommes.
Rodriguez Jr. est vraiment un artiste que l’on adore sur Actualités Electroniques. J’ava semaines, accompagné justement aux platines du producteur allemand. Moitié de The Youngsters, Rodriguez Jr. apporte les notes happy de ces tracks. Après avoir sorti tout récemment des productions sur les labels Mobilee, Mothership et Boxer Recordings, il revient en forme avant l’été avec ces tracks produits en compagnie de l’uns des hommes les plus influents du milieu techno et minimal mondial.
Marc Romboy s’est quant à lui illustré récemment avec dernier EP « Talking All That Jazz EP », lui aussi sorti sous Systematic.
« Lac de Nivelles » se caractérise par une entrée en fanfare grâce à des percussions accompagnées d’un instrument que l’on a peu l’occasion d’entendre sur des productions électroniques. Il s’agit du xylophone. On sent ici l’influence de Rodriguez Jr., alors que la basse, sombre et underground a du être conçue par Marc Romboy, sans aucun doute. Le mélange des genres donne à ce titre une force musicale rare. Le titre se veut frais, et taillé pour les dancefloors de cet été.
Le remix de Glimpse, reprend lui aussi le xylophone, mais dans une atmosphère plus happy. Le titre ajoute une touche soul par rapport à l’original et mettra lui aussi le feu aux dancefloors. On a par ailleurs l’occasion d’entendre au loin un vocal semble dire « Can you feel it ? ». Ce titre énergique et efficace complète parfaitement l’original, avec un break à la limite de la perfection. C’est LE titre à jouer au bord d’une piscine cet été, grâce à son groove irrésistible.
« Couleur d’espoir » est un titre plus profond et basé sur des sons hypnotiques et marins. Ce titre tourne autour de samples aquatiques sur lesquels ont été appliqué des effets de réverbération. Il progresse alors lentement vers une atmosphère deep et plutôt agréable. Assez différent de la précédente production, le travail réalisé ici est plutôt original avec l’alliance de différentes influences. A certains moments, on peut entendre des vocaux d’enfants au loin, le tout se mélangeant avec la basse toujours dans un esprit romboyien.
Sans conteste l’original est notre coup de cœur, même si le remix de Glimpse vaut son pesant de cacahuètes. Les titres correspondent à des ambiances différentes, à vous de voir ce qu’attend votre public ! Enfin, sachez que ces titres sont soutenus et joués par Seth Troxler, Tiefschwarz, Sascha Funke, Ewan Pearson, Laurent Garnier, Kiki, Josh Wink, M.A.N.D.Y., Martin Landsky, Peter Kruder et bien d’autres encore. Cet EP sera sans aucun doute l’un des gros succès de cet été 2010…
