English Pendulum is an Australian group that is not very well-know in France, nevertheless their third album "Immersion", released in June 2010 became directly #1 of the UK album chart. From this album is extracted the track "The Island" that is currently buzzing. Indeed, this track that has been remixed by Tiesto and has just been remixed by Steve Angello, AN21 and Max Vangeli. This track will be playlisted for sure very quickly by many DJs, as it incorporates the relevant codes of music blockbusters. Another brilliant production of the Swedish guy and the infernal duo composed of AN21 and Max Vangeli that we presented you last week, with their remix of « Smack my bitch up ».  Pendulum - The island This group formed in Perth in 2002, is a group of drum and bass. Influenced by many styles of music, it uses various musical styles to compose its music. It is a mixture of pop-rock sounds, but also break beat rhythms and samples of electronic music, easily identifiable. Form of 6 members, the band performed for several months in numerous festivals across Europe and Australia. Their career was propelled when they signed on the label Warner Bros. Records / Ear Storm in 2005. Considered as an underground band at the beginning, they have been quick to prove themselves, to reach the top of the charts in 2010. This success is not ready to stop and France should be the next country contaminated! In addition, to increase their notoriety they have recently joined the legal download site Juno Download and the sharing platform Soundcloud to launch a remix contest dedicated to the track "The Island". At stake for the winner, money and especially the release of his remix with everything that goes with it: campaign, evening events, etc.. If you want to participate click here. Regarding "The Island", it is a track that could be qualified as dance music, in its positive sense. About the style precisely, they have just been nominated for their album in Australia in the category "Best Dance Release" @ the ARIAS (Australian Music Awards). The track consists of an effective voice and an heady and psychedelic melody that looks like the sound of a balloon that is deflating while squeezing the end. We also note the presence of a sample loop that will quickly enter your head. Both say that the title has all the ingredients to be a hit. The remixes of Tiesto, the one of Steven Angello, his brother and AN21, are in the same vein as the original by taking the vocal, but pushes the psychedelic side even further in an atmosphere Size Recordastic, that means progressive with a unstructured low pass. If this type is known and a bit overused these days, it remains effective!  Pendulum - The Island (Tiesto Mix)  Pendulum - The Island (Steve Angello, AN21 and Max Vangeli Remix) When I was looking for info on this group, I was surprised to see how successful it is, with nearly one million fans on Facebook, 10 million hits on Myspace and endlessly dates throughout Europe by the end of 2010. So it's a very nice discovery I just made and that maybe you already know... In any case, be careful, for those interested in the group, the will be tomorrow @ Transbordeur festival in Lyon, and tonight the ban will play @ l’Elysée Montmartre.
