Nouvelle chanson / new song : sabi – goodnight

VOUS L’AVEZ DÉCOUVERTE SUR “(DROP DEAD) BEAUTIFUL DE BRITNEY, ECOUTEZ LE NOUVEAU TITRE DE SABI “GOODNIGHT”

Si vous avez écouté le denier album de Britney Spears “Femme Fatale”, vous avez certainement été intrigué par la présence de cette “rappeuse” inconnue du nom de Sabi sur le titre “(Drop Dead) Beautiful”. Il était évidemment à prévoir qu’avec ce featuring, l’intérêt porté à la carrière de cette jeune métisse aux origines afro-américaines et salvadoriennes soit décuplé. Ainsi, l’artiste a présenté un titre inédit “Goodnight” qui servira de présentation non officielle de Sabi en tant qu’artiste solo, en attendant la sortie du premier single de son futur album. You’ve probably been intrigued by this female “rapper” getting a feature on Britney Spears‘ song “(Drop Dead) Beautiful” off her new album “Femme Fatale”. It was quite obvious that thanks to that collaboration, people’s interest in Sabi would take off significantly, and I’m pleased to see that she’s not sleeping on this huge opportunity. Sabi just released a brand new song called “Good Night”, which doesn’t seem to be the first single off her first solo album, but a buzz song or something, just to make sure people won’t forget about her when she’s actually ready to launch her solo career. The song is quite enjoyable, with its hard-hitting Urban Pop beat. Sabi holds her own as well, in a Fergie-esque style halfway between singing and rapping. Unfortunately, Sabi doesn’t seem to have much of a significant artistic stamp. I mean, we have already heard this style before, and she doesn’t seem to bring anything new to the table. Plus I’m not too sure her voice’s tone will be easily recognizable, which seems to be the poorman version of “talent” these days. Still, the song isn’t that bad, at all. It will just serve as a snack until the real first single drops and serious matter begins.

La chanson est plutôt sympathique, avec son beat urbain et ses sonorités pop. Sabi se débrouille plutôt bien, dans un style très Fergie-esque à mi chemin entre chant et rap. Cependant, je regrette qu’elle n’ait pas une empreinte plus marquée… L’on a déjà entendu ce style, et a priori, Sabi n’y apporte rien de plus. Elle a un timbre assez passe-partout qui ne sera pas facilement reconnaissable dès la première écoute. C’est donc une chanson agréable que Sabi nous propose, mais qui aura du mal à marquer les esprits. Un petit encas pour, je l’espère, nous faire patienter jusqu’au premier single, où les choses sérieuses vont commencer.
