Nouvelle chanson / new song : chris brown – treading water

UN TITRE INÉDIT DU PROCHAIN ALBUM DE CHRIS BROWN FAIT SON APPARITION SUR LE NET : TREADING WATER

Chris Brown avait déjà annoncé son intention de sortir un nouvel album cette année même, même s’il vient tout juste de sortir son quatrième album solo “F.A.M.E” il y a trois semaines. A priori, il s’agirait d’un LP intitulé “Fortune”, puisqu’à l’origine Chris voulait sortir un double album “F.A.M.E & Fortune”, avant de devoir abandonner l’idée sans doute par restriction budgétaire. Quoi qu’il en soit un titre inédit vient de faire son apparition sur le net, mais dans sa version démo. Il s’agit de “Treading Water”, une chanson qui apparaitra vraisemblablement sur l’album “Fortune” de Chris Brown. Check it out :

Chris Brown had previously announced that he wanted to put out a new album this year, even if his fourth studio album “F.A.M.E” only came out a few weeks ago. The album will presumably be called “Fortune”, since Chris originally intended to put out a double-disc album called “F.A.M.E & Fortune”. This project probably didn’t see the light of the day because of budget restriction. Anyway, a brand new unreleased track leaked on the web, in its unfinished and unmastered version. The song is called “Treading Water” and will appear on the new album “Fortune”. Check it out :

This song is quite enjoyable, although it sounds a little too predictable and cliché for my taste. I’m having a hard time taking Chris Brown seriously in this romantic and languishing genre, when next thing you know he pulls out another strip tease anthem video showcasing how great women can clap with their ass. Incoherent much? The song is clearly unfinished, but we can still detect its potential. Another hit like “With You” could certainly do wonders for Chris’ career. But I’m not too sure about moving so fast from an album like “F.A.M.E”, without giving us the opportunity to enjoy it in the long run. Wasting this album’s potential would be a terrible idea.

Cette chanson est plutôt agréable, bien qu’un peu trop prévisible et cliché à mon goût. J’ai un peu de mal à prendre Chris au sérieux dans ce genre de ballades douces et langoureuses, quand à côté il nous sort des hymnes de strip tease avec des femmes qui font applaudir leurs fesses. Incohérence quand tu nous tiens. La chanson manque clairement de finition, mais l’on peut tout de même y déceler un certain potentiel. Il est vrai qu’un nouveau hit dans la veine de “With You” pourrait faire du bien à la carrière de Chris Breezy. Encore faudrait-il que l’on puisse avoir le temps de profiter de “F.A.M.E” avant qu’il ne décide de passer à autre chose. Ce serait dommage de gâcher le potentiel de cet album.
