La coupure générale qui a touché les installations électriques du MotorLand a été causée par la panne de l'un des transformateurs du circuit. Les promoteurs du Grand Prix d'Aragón ont fait tout ce qui était dans leur mesure pour résoudre la panne et permettre la reprise des essais mais les solutions trouvées au cours de l'après-midi ne respectaient pas les critères de sécurité du circuit.
Cette situation a donc mené à l'annulation des séances FP2 des catégories MotoGP et Moto2. Le personnel du circuit s'efforce actuellement de résoudre le problème afin que le Grand Prix puisse reprendre son course demain, samedi 17 septembre.
