Intentions

Né en septembre 2010, LIBALEL est un projet de webdocumentaire consacré à la jeune scène artistique libanaise. La réalisation d’une série de portraits de jeunes artistes vivant au Liban constitue le cœur du projet.

Lorsque Pierre Abi Saab, journaliste, évoque la jeune génération artistique libanaise, il la qualifie de « génération de la rupture » enfantée par la guerre. La scène libanaise est un véritable laboratoire d’expérimentation artistique en prise avec un contexte politique bien particulier, source de questionnements forts. En effet, Beyrouth est une ville marquée par son histoire et traversée de multiples dynamiques politiques, culturelles et sociales.

Mettre en lumière des parcours, des paroles de jeunes artistes et révéler les interactions de leur pratique avec un contexte fort et un territoire particulier.
Notre démarche est guidée par le désir de questionner les histoires personnelles de ces artistes en reflétant leurs choix, leurs aspirations et leurs influences. Nous souhaitons tout autant comprendre ce qui se joue dans l’interaction de ces jeunes artistes avec leur contexte de création.

Comment est structurée la jeune création artistique au sein de ce territoire ? Quel rapport ces jeunes artistes entretiennent-ils avec leur histoire ? Comment intègrent-ils et mobilisent-ils ces dynamiques politiques, culturelles et sociales au cœur même de leurs créations ? En quoi développent-ils des espaces d’expérimentation et d’expression liés aux enjeux de la mémoire, de l’histoire et du multiculturalisme ?

Une plateforme documentaire structurée autour d’une série de portraits de jeunes artistes contemporains du Liban.
Le cœur du projet réside dans l’utilisation d’une pluralité de médias (photo, vidéo, textes, bandes sonores), tous apportant un regard particulier sur notre sujet. Cette diversité permet un traitement transversal, une approche précise et fait écho aux différentes disciplines des artistes rencontrés. Le blog nous permet de développer une réflexion riche et de fonder des bases solides au projet. C’est en cela qu’il est l’amorce du webdocumentaire. Le projet se veut évolutif et le format du webdocumentaire permet une actualisation et un enrichissement permanents de son contenu.

Concrètement, nous voulons permettre au visiteur de naviguer au gré de ses intérêts à travers une série de portraits, d’une dizaine de minutes chacun. Pour chaque portrait, divers prolongements seront proposés : un diaporama photo, la retranscription des entretiens dans leur intégralité, des articles et des liens portant sur l’artiste et les problématiques abordées… L’idée est d’enrichir les portraits d’éléments de contexte.

Les différents contenus sont envisagés comme une partie d’un tout mais également comme objet unique. C’est pourquoi, à côté de la dimension multimédia, nous exploiterons les circuits de transmission « traditionnelles » à travers des projections, des expositions photos et des rencontres.

> Objectives

LIBALEL was founded in September 2010 and is a web documentary devoted to the fledging Lebanese artistic scene. The making of a series of portraits of young artists living in Lebanon is the core of the project.

When the journalist Pierre Abi Saab talks about the young Lebanese artistic generation, he describes it as a “rupture generation” born out of war. The Lebanese scene is a true laboratory of artistic experimentation dealing with a very specific political context which raises many issues. Indeed Beirut is a city marked by its history and experiencing many political, cultural and social dynamics.

Highlighting the young artists’ background and voice, unveiling the interactions between their work and a strong context and particular territory.
Our approach is guided by the desire to question the personal background of these artists by highlighting their choices, their aspirations and their influences. Similarly, we wish to understand what comes into play within the interaction between these young artists and the context of creation.

How is the young artistic creation structured within this territory? What relationship do these young artists maintain with their country’s history? How do they integrate and put together those political, cultural and social dynamics within the core of their work? In what ways do they develop space for experimentation and expression related to the issues of Memory, History and Multiculturalism?

The core of the project lies in the use of a plurality of media – photography, videos, texts, audio tapes – all of which give a particular focus on our subject. This diversity enables cross-disciplinary treatment and a precise approach, and echoes the various fields of the artists interviewed. The blog enables us to develop an extensive reflection and to establish solid foundations to the project. From this perspective it is the starting point of the web documentary. The project aims to be ever changing. The web documentary format enables a permanent update and improvement of its content.

In a word we want to enable the visitor to browse through a series of ten-minute long portraits depending on his interests. For each portrait, further items will be suggested: a photographic slideshow, the full transcription of interviews, articles and links concerning the artist and the issues raised etc. The goal is to add background elements to the portraits.

The visitor can look up the various contents as a single entity or as part of a larger whole. For this reason apart from the multimedia tool we resort to ‘traditional’ media such as projections, photo exhibitions and meetings.

أهدافنا

 تأسس مشروع ليباليل عام 2010. يرمي هذا الوثائقي-ويب (فيلم وثائقي على الإنترنت) الى تعريف الجمهور على الوجوه الشابة و المواهب الناشئة في الساحة الفنية اللبنانية من خلال سلسلة من التقارير تضيء على شخصهم و على أعمالهم.

يتحدث الصحفي بيار أبي صعب عن الجيل الجديد من الفنانين اللبنانيين واصفاً إياه ب »جيل القطيعة »، المولود من رحم الحرب؛ فالساحة اللبنانية مختبر تجارب فنية حقيقي، في مهبّ سياقٍ ووضعٍ سياسي خاص، مما يثير و يفتح الباب أمام تساؤلاتٍ واسعة. بالفعل، إن أقلّ ما يقال عن بيروت، أنها مدينة ترك عليها التاريخ علاماته، ناهيك عن كونها شهدت و لا تزال تشهد ديناميكيات متعددة من سياسية و اجتماعية فثقافية و هلمّ جرّا.

إبراز مسيرة و خلفية هؤلاء الشباب ومنحهم مساحة للتعبير إضافة الى الكشف عن التفاعلات بين عملهم بين أعمالهم و إطار طاغٍ و أرض معيّنة (وطن).

ينبع نهجنا من الرغبة في الإستفسار عن تاريخ و خلفية هؤلاء الفنانين من خلال التركيز على خياراتهم و طموحاتهم و بما ومن يتأثرون. بالقدر ذاته، نودّ الإلمام بالعوامل المؤثرة على تفاعلهم و عملية الإبداع.

ما هو حال عملية الخلق الفني في لبنان؟ علامَ و كيف هي مبنية ؟ ما هي العلاقة التي تربط بين أولئك الفنانين الشباب و تاريخ بلادهم؟ كيف يدرجون و يصيغون هذه الديناميكيات من السياسية و الاجتماعية و الثقافية في صلب أعمالهم؟ بأي وسائل يخلقون مساحة تجربة و تعبير عن مسائل متعلّقة بالذاكرة و التاريخ و التعددية الثقافية؟

منصّة وثائقية و توثيقية محورها سلسلة من التقارير عن الفنانين الشباب المعاصرين في لبنان.

يكمن جوهر المشروع في استخدام كمّ كبير من الأوساط من صور و فيديو أو شرائط مصوّرة فكتابات و نصوص و تسجيلات صوتية و الى ما هنالك، لكونها جميعها تخدم على طريقتها موضوعنا و تضيء عليه من زاوية خاصة. يتيح هذا الغنى، معالجة متفرعّة الجوانب و عرضية لموضوعنا و مقاربة دقيقة كما أنه يعبّر عن مختلف المجالات و الميادين التي يتعاطاها الفنانون الذين قابلناهم. أما المدوّنة، فستح لنا بتنمية نوع من التأمل و البحث المسهب و بإرساء أرضية و اسس متينة لمشروعنا.من هذا المنطلق، فهو يمثّل نقطة انطلاق الوثائقي-ويب. لا ينحصر المشروع في قالب جامد فهو قابلٌ على الدوام للتغيير و التطوير و هو أمرٌ ممكن في الوثائقي الويب الذي بطيبعته يتفح المجال أمام شتى أنواع التحديثات و التعديلات في المضمون و التي من شأنها تطويره و إغنائه.

ببساطة، نرغب بمنح الزائر الحرية في تصفح على سجيته التقارير المعروضة ههنا و التي لا تزيد مدّتها عن الدقائق العشر لكلّ فنّان. على أن يتمّ إلحاق كل تقرير بلفات إضافية من عرض لشرائح مصوّرة الى النسخ الأصلية و الكاملة للمقابلات أو حتى مقالات و روابط عن الفنان و عن القضايا المطروحة في التقرير. أمّا الغرض من كلّ هذه العملية فيتمثل في إغناء التقارير و إضافة عناصر تثقيفية ذات صلة.

من هنا تخّول هذه التركيبة اعتبار المضمون وحدة متّلاحمة أو مقاربتها كلّ جزء على حدى، لذا فإننا بالتوازي مع هذه الأداة المتعددة الوسائط، سنلجأ الى الوسائل التقليدية التي لا تقلّ أهميةً كالعروض المصوّرة و معارض الصور و اللقاءات و المقابلات سواء مع وسائل الإعلام أم مع الجمهور.
