Les artistes Giampaolo Bertozzi (né en 1957) et Stefano Dal Monte Casoni (né en 1961) vivent et travaillent en Italie. Ils se sont rencontrés lors de leurs études à l’Institut d’Art de la Céramique, à Faenza et décidèrent peu après de travailler ensemble sur des oeuvres collaboratives.
Ils utilisent de nombreuses matières premières différentes, mêlant la tradition à l’expérimentation dans une volonté de s’affranchir des conventions et des stéréotypes culturels liés à la céramique et aux arts appliqués.
Les recherches menées dans le cadre de cette collaboration engendrent la production d’objets qui confrontent le passé et le présent, les thèmes classiques et la modernité. Leurs oeuvres se réfèrent de manière récurrente à la société de consommation et à la vanité, l’éphémérité des choses.

Artists Giampaolo Bertozzi (Italian b. 1957) and Stefano Dal Monte Casoni (Italian b 1961) live and work in Italy. They met while studying at the Ceramic Art College of Faenza. Soon thereafter they decided to work together in a collaborative artistic partnership.
They work with many different ceramic materials, using both tradition and experimentation in a continuous attempt to free themselves from conventionality and cultural stereotypes connected to ceramics and to the so-called applied arts.
The artistic research of this collaboration produces objects which link the past and the present along an axis; so that technique, objects, themes and clichés exist together on the same level with the same formal attention in a synthetic world made up of ironic naturalness.
