ATELIER : construire une bio-interface ou comment faire du son avec ses muscles?
Marco Donnarumma est remarqué pour ses recherches en « biomedia » et ses performances théâtrales et musicales présentées dans plus de 30 pays de par le monde. Son travail a été sélectionné pour de nombreux événements internationaux (IESA, Biennale de Venise, Biennale WRO), des festivals (FILE, EMAF, etc.) et colloques (NIME, ICMC, Stanford CCRMA, Pd Con). Il a été artiste en résidence à Inspace (Angleterre) et a reçu le premier prix du Guthman Musical Instrument Competition (USA) dans la catégorie « Instrument de musique le plus innovant ».

présentation de Toupie + Performance
Emmanuelle Gibello développe une pratique qui emprunte à la fois aux arts visuels et à la musique électronique. Son travail de composition et de mixage s’effectue à partir de sons enregistrés dans de multiples contextes, naturels et urbains. Emmanuelle imagine également de nouveaux instruments dans la mouvance du DIY tel que le FONOF, un decontrôleur Chaotique ou les Emotiques prix brouillon d’un rêve numérique 2012.

Présentation - conférence
Jocelyn Robert vit à Québec. Il travaille en art audio, art informatique, performance, installation, vidéo et écriture. Il a réalisé plusieurs performances, aussi bien en solo qu'avec Diane Landry, Laetitia Sonami et Bruit TTV, a publié une quinzaine de cds en solo et a participé à plus d'une vingtaine d'autres. Il a remporté en 2002 le Premier Prix, ex aequo, catégorie Image, de la Transmediale à Berlin, ainsi que le Prix du Rayonnement
International décerné par le Conseil de la Culture de Québec en 2006. Il a présenté de nombreuses expositions en solo, en plus de collaborer avec Émile Morin et Daniel Jolliffe à la réalisation de plusieurs installations.

Interface virtuelle pour créer ses outils de création sonore et découverte de Méandre 
MEANDRE est un Meta-outil pour artiste, destiné à faciliter l'écriture de projets interactifs. Il se compose d'un gestionnaire d'évènement permettant de scénariser l'interaction entre média et capteurs. Il à été développé dans le but d'accompagner les pièces interactives sur lesquels il a travaillé avec le groupe de recherche ITR (Ensadlab) et Active Creative Design. Meandre permet également de faciliter l'apprentissage de l'environnement Pure Data sur lequel il repose, sans en modifier le paradigme.

NOMAD OPEN SESSION : du lundi 4 au vendredi 8 mars 2013
Nomad est un collectif international de militants à forte culture informatique fonctionnant de façon décentralisée et non-hiérarchique. Son objectif est de développer des usages politiques des technologies et de favoriser un intérêt politique pour l’appropriation des nouvelles technologies. Le collectif Nomad joue ainsi au sein du mouvement altermondialiste le rôle d’un incubateur d’idées, d’un centre d’initiatives et d’un pourvoyeur de briques techniques ouvertes à des appropriations et des re-configurations multiples. 
Depuis 2003, Apo33 soutient le collectif Nomad dans ses recherches technologiques par l’apport de son expérience dans le domaine du son et des logiciels libres dédiés à la création. Du 26 au 30 mars aura lieu en Tunise le prochain Forum Social Mondial pour lequel le collectif Nomad proposera des alternatives technologiques libre et réappropriable par chacun. Nous proposons plusieurs ateliers dans les studios de l’association pour découvrir le projet Nomad et les technologies que nous développons.

“We have a situation!” est une série de performance participative, sans frontière, online-offline, dont l’objectif est
de questionner l’état actuel des échanges interculturelles en Europe.

De mars à mai 2013, une série de cyber-performances vont être présentées à la fois sur internet via la plateforme Upstage et dans différents lieux physiques (galleries, salle de spectacle, ateliers...)
permettant aux artistes européens de partager leurs histoires, projets et d’échanger sur la manière dont chacun aborde la création dans des situations spécifiques.

ASSOCIATION APO33
Fondée en 1 997 APO33 est une association gérée par des artistes professionnels privilégiant la pratique
intermédia : croisement des arts expérimentaux, de l’art sonore, des arts numériques, de la créativité sociale et théorique. APO33 propose ainsi un développement de la recherche artistique sous la forme de collaboration, de nouvelles formes d’écritures et d’approches de la création tout en invitant des artistes, théoriciens, chercheurs, public à expérimenter à travers des expositions, des soirées lives, concerts, performances, rencontres et ateliers locaux (Ville de Nantes, Département, Région), nationaux et internationaux. S’inscrivant dans la continuité des dynamiques ouvertes par le mouvement des logiciels libres, APO33 se construit comme un espace modulaire, initiant des projets et processus de création collaboratifs et explorant de nouveaux modes de production et de diffusion artistiques et créatifs.

workshop : build your own bio-interface or how to make sound with your muscles?
The Xth Sense (XS) is a free and open biophysical technology.
It was recently named the “world’s most innovative new musical instrument” and awarded the first prize in the Margaret Guthman New Musical Instrument Competition by the Georgia Tech Center for Music Technology (US). During this hands-on workshop participants build manually from scratch their own low cost, biosensing wearable muscle sounds sensor, and are offered an intensive training on bodily performance of music, live video and other media. 
New media and sonic artist, performer and teacher, Marco Donnarumma has performed and spoken in 40 countries including US and South America, Europe, India, China, South Korea and Australia. His works have been selected at leading art events (ISEA, Venice Biennale, WRO Biennale), specialized festivals (FILE, Sonorities, Némo, Mapping, Piksel, Re-New, Laboral, EMAF) and major academic conferences (NIME, ICMC, Pure Data Convention, Linux Audio Conference@Stanford CCRMA, SICMF).

He has directed several performances, both solo and with Diane Landry, Laetitia Sonami and Bruit TTV, published fifteen solo CDs and has participated in more than twenty others. In 2002 he won a first prize tie in the Image category at Transmediale in Berlin, as well as the Prix du Rayonnement awarded by the International Conseil de la Culture de Québec en 2006. He has presented numerous solo exhibitions, in addition to working with Émile Morin and Daniel Jolliffe for the realization of several installations.

NOMAD OPEN SESSION : Monday 4th to Friday 8th March 2013
Nomad is an international collective of activists with a strong computer based culture that operates in decentralised and non-hierarchical manner. Its objective is to develop political uses of technology and foster an interest in political appropriation of new technologies. The collective Nomad plays within the global justice movement with the role of an incubator of ideas, a center of initiatives and a provider of technical building blocks open to appropriation and multiple re-configurations.
Since 2003, Apo33 has supported Nomad in its technological research by providing experience in the field of sound and free software dedicated to the creation. From March 26 to 30 the next World Social Forum will be held in Tunise, in which the collective Nomad propose alternative technologies and free réappropriable by everyone. We offer several workshops in the studios of the Association to discover the technologies that we develop for Project Nomad.

The World Social Forum (ou FSM) is an international forum designed to bring together civic organizations around the world to the alter-globalization movement ("Another world is possible"). Addressing the major concerns of civil society in relation to globalization, this event presents itself as a social alternative to the World Economic Forum held annually in January in Davos, Switzerland.

We have a situation!
We have a situation! is a series of live, trans-border, online-offline participatory performances addressing current cross-cultural European issues.
“There is no use in deceiving ourselves with hope. Our most effective course is to confront the situation as it is, and if it is still bad, to acknowledge the badness, trusting in the truth as the premise of any improvement, and feeling a new security because of the very fact that we have met and verified the worst.” – Clement Greenberg, The collected Essays and Criticism, vol.2, Arrogant Purpose, p192.
During the first quarter of 2013, networked performances will take place at local venues and simultaneously in the online platform UpStage, sharing stories across European national borders and posing questions that creatively frame a specific situation.
After each performance, audiences connecting online in real time will participate in discussions that imagine creative solutions to the situation. This process aims to bring people together in a creative event and foster an understanding of countries as communities of people, with many commonalities.
Four “situations” will be created in four countries – France, Netherlands, UK and Austria – with each “situation” involving a 5-day workshop and the performance. Each “situation” will be transparent and the entire process made available online with the aim of producing a performance model that can be adopted and adapted by other artists and organisations for their own “situations”.
The project is supported by a grant from the European Cultural Foundation and the partners are:
APO33: interdisciplinary artist-run laboratory and Platforme Intermédia/La Fabrique: Space for experimental arts in Nantes, France
MAD emergent art center: artist-led laboratory, platform and provider of emergent art in Eindhoven, Netherlands
Furtherfield: media arts collective and gallery space for art, technology and social change in London, UK
Schaumbad Freies Atelierhaus: independent artists’ collective in Graz, Austria.
Lead artist Helen Varley Jamieson (Germany/NZ) will work with participants at each location, and developer/artist Martin Eisenbarth (Germany) will provide technical support for the online platform, UpStage, enhancing it to meet the artistic needs of the project.

APO33
APO33 is a not-for-profit association/artists collective founded by Julien Ottavi in 1996. APO33 research practices cross philosophy, poetry, visual, sonic art and anything else that may arrive through collaborative working. APO33 operates across networked and physical spaces and develops tools (hardware/software) for creative projects and the wider FLOSS (Free/Libre Open Source Software) community of artists and programmers.
APO33, as an interdisciplinary laboratory drawing on the artistic and technological fields, fosters various collective projects associating research, experimentation and social intervention.

The Fabrique, Iles de Nantes is at the center of Cultural Exploration and Tourism, this melting pot of activity brings with it large audiences both seeking to discover new experiences and those who stumble upon the work of APO33/La Plateforme Intermedia. When the public is confronted by new and experimental art it can become a catalyst for lively and thought provoking discussion for both artist(s) and the audience. These events are seen as an important space to create dialog and futher the debates surrounding issues in contemporary art and sound. After one year, APO33/La Plateforme Intermedia is fast becoming an invaluable testbed for artists and associations working at the cutting edge of arts, culture and technology.La Plateforme Intermedia in numbers during 2011-2012 - 120 Invited artists (local and international) and over 10000 visitors in less than a year.
