Le Retour du héros est un film réalisé par Laurent Tirard . Le tournage a débuté début mai dernier et se terminera fin juillet. L’histoire se passe au début du XXe siècle. Ce film marque les retrouvailles du réalisateur avec Jean Dujardin après la comédie Un Homme à la hauteur.

Synopsis : Le capitaine Neuville est un grand séducteur. Il vient demander sa main à la jeune Pauline, sous le regard méfiant d’Elisabeth, la sœur de cette dernière. Mais Neuville est appelé au front et Pauline reste sans nouvelles. Alors qu’elle dépérit peu à peu, Elisabeth prend la plume et commence une correspondance avec Pauline, sous le nom de Neuville, faisant de lui un véritable héros de guerre. Mais le capitaine finit par réapparaître, au grand dam de la jeune femme…

Le scénario est co-écrit par Laurent Tirard et  Grégoire Vigneron.

Le film est coproduit par JD Prod, la société de Jean Dujardin, et Les films sur mesure, celle de Laurent Tirard, et par France 3.

Le Retour du héros sortira le 14 février 2018 au cinéma. Il sera distribué par StudioCanal
