Are you ready, Mumbai? 5 Days to go for the OnePlus Music Festival

It promises to be nothing like India has ever seen - or heard - before. In less than 5 days, on 16 November to be exact, the curtain will go up on perhaps the one of the grandest music show on Indian shores, the OnePlus Music Festival.

For those of you who thought that OnePlus was mainly a tech company, well, think again. The brand has forged a formidable reputation for its out of the box activities for its dedicated and passionate community. And well, anyone who has used a OnePlus Bullets Wireless earphone or has experienced the power of sound on a OnePlus television will tell you that the brand has an ear for music. Which is why it is showcasing some of the best musical talents in the world for its community in the OnePlus Music Festival at Mumbai, reaching into the music world to create a space for community and music enthusiasts to come together on a different platform, to see their favourite acts and discover new music.

This is perhaps the first time an event of this scale has been organised in India by a tech brand. And it is hardly surprising that it comes from the brand that has Robert Downey Jr as its brand ambassador and firmly believes in Never Settling. "We decided to host this festival to share our passion for music with our community, who are at the heart of everything we do," revealed Carl Pei, the co-founder of OnePlus. And it promises to be quite a show as well.

While this is Perry's second trip to India, it will be the first of another artist. One who started out as a model but not only has carved a niche for herself as a singer and songwriter, but has even won the prestigious Grammy Award for best new artist this year. We are talking of Dua Lipa, who shot to fame with her single 'Be the one,' a song that we are sure will be heard on November 16!

Accompanying them on stage will be some of India's finest artists. Hindi film score composer, music director, singer and lyricist Amit Trivedi, famous for his work in Dev D will be there. And so will the winner of the Bacardi House Party sessions last year, the 22-year-old Ritviz from Pune. Adding a touch of rock to the night with their raw, profound signature style of music and blend of Hindi and Urdu lyrics will be Delhi's The Local Train. Rounding off the music offerings for the evening will be Aswekeepsearching, a modern post-rock band that believes in making its music a narrative for its emotions, live experiences and feelings.

All of which spells "Amazing" with a capital A. Katy Perry and Dua Lipa are every bit as excited as their fans are. "I am looking forward to seeing and singing with all of my Indian KatyCats at the OnePlus Music Festival," Perry said.

Dua Lipa is every bit as thrilled. "I'm excited to get back on stage, I feel like it's going to be such a fun night," she said.

Calling it a "fun night" considering what is on stage could be an understatement. This could well be the music festival that could redefine how audiences in India experience music. And it is less than 5 days well. We would not blame you for not being able to settle. Who can, when such a terrific event is on the horizon?
